How it Works

How do asset requests work?

Target props, scenery and set dressing can be reserved for any length of time, altered or augmented for Target productions in Los Angeles. There is no rental cost to use the assets, but any facilitation time or logistics required of EcoSet are billable to the project using the assets.

EcoSet recommends that productions work with a scenic company or construction team to pick up and drop off scenic assets during prep and wrap days. Art Departments can schedule a pick up once an order has been confirmed, scheduled and pulled.

EcoSet billable support

Billable logistics include coordination, site visit facilitation, loading labor, restocking labor, forklift operation or other on-demand requests.

Billable rentals include jacks, sandbags, bottle jacks, A-frames, carts, dollies or other equipment rentals.

EcoSet is closed on weekends. If facilitation is required on weekends, a 'shop open fee' will be assessed in addition to billable logistics.

If delivery or pick up by EcoSet is requested, we can provide a quote for our On-Demand logistics services as needed.

EcoSet billing

EcoSet is a direct supplier to Target Creative. We will estimate and invoice our facilitation costs to the Target Producer unless otherwise instructed to bill the production company.

Pick up logistics (scenic)

If a scenic or construction team is picking up from EcoSet, the number of laborers must be communicated in advance. Some elements are so large or heavy that they require a minimum of 4 labor plus a forklift. Additional EcoSet labor is billable and subject to availability.

Production obligations (scenic)

Any alterations to the scenic assets need to be communicated to EcoSet prior to the strike, and we will update the inventory accordingly.

Elements that were originally wrapped or protected must be returned in the same condition.

Production obligations (set dressing)

All items requested from EcoSet should be cleared for usage by Target's Product Producer.

Art Departments will need to protect the set dressing as assets during transportation and usage on set.

Adding new set dressing items

Target's Product Producer will approve the addition of any new set dressing items to the inventory, or the removal of obsolete items.

Adding new scenic items

Target's Creative Producer will approve the addition of any new scenic assets. Prior to the strike, the Production Designer can connect with the Creative Producer and EcoSet about a potential storage plan and space availability. EcoSet requires schematics for any new builds that are added to the inventory.

New elements cannot exceed 20' in any dimension. We recommend designing and building in 12' sections. Any cut downs or alterations EcoSet is required to do for storage purposes are billable to the production.

Newly built elements that require protection or specialty handling must be wrapped by Art Department and communicated to EcoSet crew prior to the load out.
